A day of Gallivanting in La Jolla

Who can resist a day of browsing around beautiful La Jolla, California on your own terms? La Jolla is located 15 minutes from downtown San Diego. It has wonderful beaches, cultural activities and fine restaurants. While La Jolla is known to be one of the most affluent communities in the United States, it has a down to earth feel due to the beautiful natural scenery and the helpfulness of its residents. La Jolla is home to the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art and the famous Children's Pool, a man-made beach protected by a sea wall. Here, and on the rocks just offshore, you can observe the California gray seals that make the pool their home- it is really quite a sight to see.  To assist with your day, you will receive the official La Jolla self guided walking tour and map.

This popular self guided walking tour allows visitors and residents alike to explore a number of unique treasures in La Jolla’s historic central village. Approximately twenty blocks in length with an estimated walking time of an hour and thirty minutes, this self-guided tour with fifteen stops offers insight into the rich history, architecture and culture of La Jolla's village, including walk-bys of some of structures dating to the 1890s and natural attractions for which this scenic seaside.

San Diego Trolley Car Tour
Including a private guided tour of the famous Hotel del Coronado

Come along with San Diego's best tour conductors as they combine colorful anecdotes, humorous stories and well researched historical information into a fast moving two hour narrative that's both entertaining and educational. Join us as we turn back the pages of history and relive San Diego's early days as it became the Birthplace of California. In Old Town San Diego (sometimes called the "Jamestown of the Pacific"), you will experience early Americana with its distinctive "West Coast Style" Spanish flavor. See and Visit... Old Town State Park, Seaport Village, Horton Plaza, Coronado Island, San Diego Zoo, Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego Museum of Art, Natural History Museum, Aerospace Museum, Lindbergh Field, Naval Station San Diego, Balboa Park, El Prado, Heritage Park, Star of India, Whaley House... and much, much more! Along the way, we will take a stop off at the historic Hotel del Coronado for a private guided tour. As a National Historic Landmark built in 1888, the Hotel del Coronado has been a get-away destination for many US Presidents and movie stars. The hotel has also played host and background to films as Some Like it Hot with Marilyn Monroe and many more. Roundtrip transportation will be provided from the Westin Downtown (AAMP Conference Hotel).
